Leeds-based technology recruitment firm SPG Resourcing is targeting turnover of £11m within two years after a management buyout from The Solution Performance Group.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, puts co-founder Sam Hameed in control of the business, which expects revenue of £5m in 2026. The company did not say when the deal completed.

SPG Resourcing plans to grow its workforce from 10 to 18 people by the end of 2027 as it expands in the UK and the US. It says it has recorded nine consecutive months of growth in 2026, despite difficult trading conditions in parts of the recruitment industry.

Mr Hameed said: “We’ve spent several years building the business and the management buyout gives us the freedom to decide where we invest and how we grow.”

Independent of its former parent

The buyout lets SPG Resourcing operate independently of The Solution Performance Group and invest in new recruitment markets, including life sciences and deep technology. The Solution Performance Group will concentrate on its deep technology operations.

SPG Resourcing will keep its Leeds headquarters and its Manchester office, and plans to establish a presence in London. The US is a key focus, where the firm wants to increase recruitment in specialist technology sectors.

The company expects most of its growth to come from expanding its existing operations, hiring experienced consultants and setting up teams that focus on individual markets. Mr Hameed said attracting and keeping staff would be central to reaching its targets: “Recruitment is a people business, and we need to attract good consultants who want to develop their careers with us.”
