How we counted: these are published contract award notices on Contracts Finder, Find a Tender and Public Contracts Scotland, not official procurement statistics. An award is counted when the supplier’s address on the notice is in West Yorkshire, or, where the notice gives no postcode, its registered office at Companies House is. The address on the notice can be a local or branch office of a firm based elsewhere. Each award is counted once, even when it appears on more than one system, and only on this title. Framework agreements, dynamic purchasing systems, dynamic markets and approved lists are excluded, as are values repeated across several suppliers on one notice, values shared by several suppliers, awards with no value, awards dated before 2026, awards to public bodies (including public bodies named on a notice only by an initialism or a short name) and notices of an intention to award. Values are as stated by the buyer: excluding VAT where Find a Tender gives that figure, otherwise as published. Concession contracts, whose stated value is the operator’s expected revenue rather than public spending, are not in the totals. Awards held back until checked: six call-off contracts of £20m or more.
