Law firm LCF Law and Hays Recruitment will hold a free event for employers and HR professionals on Thursday 12 November 2026, using live theatre to act out workplace scenarios alongside talks on employment law and the recruitment market. Details of the event were released on 27 October 2026.

The Workplace HR Challenges event runs from 9am to 12.30pm at The Terrace, 3 Wellington Place, Leeds.

Who is speaking

James O’Neill, a director at Hays Recruitment, will talk about the recruitment market, including talent attraction, retention and the changing expectations of workers. James Austin, an employment law partner at LCF Law, will cover developments in employment law, including sexual harassment and disability discrimination, and the steps employers can take to keep a workplace compliant and inclusive.

Two guest speakers will give personal perspectives. Olga Geidane, a motivational speaker, will talk about her experience of sexual harassment and its impact. Mike Bedford, a coach for neurodivergent leaders, will share his lived experience of neurodiversity and how employers can make working environments more inclusive.

Theatre on the agenda

West Yorkshire company Soundproof Box, which delivers interactive theatre for social change, will act out real workplace scenarios to explore HR and employment issues. Its productions have previously been performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and at a US university.

James Austin said: “The success of our last event on how to solve recruitment and retention challenges demonstrated the appetite among employers and HR professionals for more practical insights into the challenges facing workplaces today.”

He added: “With recruitment pressures, changing workforce expectations and continuing developments in employment law, it is important that employers understand both their legal responsibilities and the wider workplace context. This event is designed to provide that insight in an engaging and practical format.”

LCF Law has more than 145 people, including 22 partners, across offices in Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate and Ilkley.
